Make the Most of your Attic Space this Summer with a Dormer Loft Conversion

With the summer months ahead, is it time to start thinking about how you can improve your living arrangements? From stunning views in a dormer loft conversion through to additional bathroom space, loft conversions can be an excellent way to make the most of your home and, of course, your attic during the summer months.

Make the Most of Views

If you’re lucky enough to have a room – or in, this case, a loft – with a view, the summer months are the perfect time to make the most of it. And when it comes to making the most of a view, a loft conversion can give you the best possible advantage.

To really make the most of your views this summer, why not commission a loft conversion with floor to ceiling windows? A dormer loft conversion with floor to ceiling windows will not only let in plenty of light, but it will also frame any special views to show them in their best light this summer.

Make the Most of the Summer Breeze

Always fancied a balcony during the summer months? Well, loft conversions can often be designed with a balcony included.

Either create the aforementioned floor to ceiling dormer loft conversion window, with a Juliette balcony across French doors, or perhaps you can incorporate a proper roof terrace or balcony area? This works particularly well if your house is an unusual shape caused by prior extensions, as you can often create a roof terrace on top of the existing extension’s flat roof.

Make the Most of an Additional Bathroom

Everyone scrabbling for a shower during the hot summer months? Well, an additional bathroom in your loft will eliminate this problem. If you’re creating a bedroom or home office in your loft, it’s always wise to include at least a cloakroom, to save you having to go up and down flights of stairs whenever nature calls.

However, if you have the space, we’d also advise including an additional shower or bath. This will simply ease the strain of everyone trying to use the one bathroom in the house, particularly in the summer months when most people like to shower more, or shower after working in the garden or a day on the beach.

Make the Most of the Good Weather!

And the other great thing about converting your loft during late spring or the summer months is the fact that the weather is usually more cooperative for the build itself! Although it’s certainly possible to convert your loft during the winter months, it is often seen as the more pleasant option to convert it while the sun is shining and you’re not having to contend with lots of wind and rain.
