Loft Conversion Worries? What Loft Conversion Worries?!

There are a few common worries that crop up time and again, but if you’re using a reputable loft conversion company to carry out the work, you needn’t worry. Here we put some of our customers’ common concerns to bed.

1.    I’ll lose all of my storage space!

It may be true that you’ll need to have a bit of a clear out before you carry out a loft conversion – after all, if you’re anything like most of us, your loft will have been a dumping ground for years – but don’t feel like you’ll be losing all your storage space.

If you do need to keep some space for seasonal items and other bulky bits and pieces, talk to your loft conversion company about how you can keep certain areas of your loft for storage.

Don’t forget that you can also have bespoke storage made within the habitable parts of the loft, too, which will help to make you more organised in your living space.

2.    My House will be a Complete Mess During the Construction Work

Any building work will create some dust and debris, and that’s why it’s important to work with a loft conversion specialist that you trust. Make sure you talk to your contractors in advance, as any good loft conversion company will do their utmost to limit the disruption that major building works will cause within your life.

A reputable loft conversion contractor will clean up after themselves every day, and will make sure that health and safety rules are followed, which will mean less hazards and equipment left lying around for you. They will also make sure that you know what disruption you can expect, so that you can plan around it.

3.    My New Loft Room is Likely to be Cold in the Winter and Boiling in the Summer

This is a very common misconception which nowadays you needn’t worry about. Any reputable attic conversion company will take their responsibilities towards the environment and energy efficiency seriously.

Temperature controlling measures will include the likes of insulation, specialist windows and blinds and efficient heating.

These are just a few worries that can be associated with converting your attic, and here at Bespoke Lofts, we understand that a loft conversion is a big undertaking. That’s why we are more than happy to talk through any concerns our customers may have.

Don’t put off gaining valuable extra space within your home for the sake of a worry; speak to Bespoke Lofts and put your mind at rest.
