Exposed Brick and Stone
However, it’s easy to get around this problem either with good quality brick effect wallpaper, or, if you want something a little more effective, brick or stone slips can be applied. These are effectively tiles made from a small portion of brick or stone, and will give an authentic exposed brick look.
Rustic Wood Flooring
OK, in an ideal world you’d want concrete flooring to finish off an industrial style room, but obviously the weight of concrete just wouldn’t work in a loft conversion.
We would therefore suggest distressed wooden or wooden-effect flooring as an alternative. If you do have your heart set on concrete, there are several convincing linoleum options which might work for you.
Beams and Pillars
If you are adding beams just to give your room the industrial edge, why not use wooden beams and wall mounted pillars? Just be sure not to restrict the space in your room; there is no point in adding a design element which will be unworkable in real life.
