How to Create a Festive Loft Conversion Bedroom

There’s a definite trend of late towards decorating our bedrooms for the festive season. Here’s how to make your loft conversion bedroom chic and cosy this winter.

In recent years, there seems to have been a trend in holiday interior design which dictates that it’s not only the main living areas that are decorated for Christmas, but in fact almost all areas of the home. If you’re Christmas mad, then this could be your idea of heaven!

Bedroom Christmas furnishings have seen a distinct rise in popularity in recent years. Whether you’re making your bedroom festive for your own benefit, or are decorating it ready to receive guests over the holiday season, here are our top Christmas loft conversion ideas for bedrooms:

Scandi Style

Scandi style has been big for a while now, but Christmas is the perfect time to really go for it. Classic red and white prints are an easy incorporation into your loft conversion in the form of bedspreads and cushions, and these can be teamed with thick chunky knit throws to give that cosy feel.

The concept of hygge is a massive part of Scandi style, so use lots of natural materials such as traditionally cut wooden Christmas ornaments and natural garlands along fireplaces and wound around beams, and remember to add plenty of candles and fairy lights.

Frosting

Using crisp white pieces is a classic way to bring some Christmas frosting into your loft conversion bedroom. Use a white bedspread, and layer it with scatter cushions. Include a couple of festive red cushions among these, to break things up, if you so wish.

If you have a fireplace or chimney breast in your loft conversion bedroom, why not add a white garland adorned with white and glittery baubles? Tall white church candles with natural green foliage would also make for a classy look within the recess of the fireplace. A simple idea is to fill vases with twigs and branches sprayed white, and then adorn these with classic decorations?

Christmas Kiddywinks

If you have children, you can really go to town with their Christmas loft conversion bedroom. Children really appreciate the magic of Christmas, and aren’t worried if everything matches as long as it’s fun. Choose bright prints for their bedspreads and quirky Christmas stockings to hang from the end of their beds.

Don’t feel the need to go with a traditional colour scheme; children will appreciate bright contemporary decorations. Similarly, why not get them involved with making brightly coloured paperchains, and give them their own tree to decorate? This has the added bonus of allowing you to create a grown up tree in the main living area of the house, free from childish clutter!

Tartan Touches

If you don’t want to go mad with Christmas decorating, but would like to add a festive, cosy feel to your loft conversion bedroom, touches of tartan will instantly achieve this for you. Add scatter cushions to your bed, or a tartan throw draped over a high backed chair: perfect to wrap up with and settle down with a good book!

Christmas is such a magical time of year. Why not embrace it in all areas of your home? And if a loft conversion is at the top of your Christmas wish list, then why not get in touch with Bespoke Lofts? We’ll happily give you the gift of more space within your home.
